  • Grass (Garden) Maintenance (numpty question)

So, we’ve moved to a ground floor flat, which has a garden.
Which is great for the children.

The climate in Qingdao is classed as “warm temperate dry forest biome.

Never having a garden before, what’s the best way to maintain the grass?

Cut it a and water it when required?

Maybe find out what type of grass it is?

    Any pictures?

It’s dark now, I’ll post some tomorrow.
The grass came from the local golf course.

Don’t worry about what type of grass it is! If you#re just looking for it to be neat, nice, green and healthy then just cut it when it’s getting a tad long, maybe every 2 weeks. Twice a season you can apply some lawn fertiliser granules, but I’ve no idea what the market is like over there for such products.

Is it quite small? You can just get an electric mower and a small electric strimmer and cut it on a dry day when you think it’s looking a bit scruffy.

Wrong approach OP. Just post a picture of your bike in the garden and you’ll get all the advice you need.

Rather than faff with expensive fertilisers, simply leave grass cuttings on the lawn at the end of the growing season which releases nutrients back into the ground.

So here are some pics of our small garden.
Very pleased with it, as there aren’t that many around (gardens that is)

We haven’t long moved in, and as you can see, the people who lived their before us, had a children’s play house on the garden.
We still have it, it’s just on the patio at the moment, so the grass can have some light to it.
