    Anyone have any experience with off road mapping in these countries? Seems buying the high detail stuff for Garmins is pricey, so will I get by with Open Streetmap? Looking around Austrian lakes (Attersee) and Northern Garda in particular.

    Probably buying a device too, so recommendations wouldn’t go amiss!

    I have used OSM (on a garmin 800) around there to reasonable success, some areas can be a little patchy on the small paths (eg 5-10% of the small paths are missing/wrong) but the stuff you’d normally want to take a bike along are normally fine and accurate.

    Kompass maps cover that area, still available free on Android apps like Maverick and AlphineQuest
