  • Got moles in the garden… what to do?

Flowerpower just called from home to say that the moles have past their exams and graduated from small hills at the side to mountains in the middle.

    Any suggestions on getting rid?

Bearing in mind we have cured the previous garden carnage left by the diggety dog by building stalag luft IV at the side of the house.

Make them a little summer house at the side of the garden, with a little patio and everything?

    Bury them alive.

Keep an eye on them. If they change shape or colour then go see your GP who will remove them for you.

I think you’re making a mountain out of a molehill there.

Wait till you get a hard frost, then early in the morning go out with a piece of thin plywood just bigger than the molehill. Slide it under the frozen lump, then transport it to a neighbours perfect lawn. Dead centre is most pleasing to the eye, remove wood then wait to see their horrified faces when they think they’ve got moles. It’s even better if they come storming out and destroy it to find their grass is okay underneath.

Look to the hills young man!

@ Bike Pawl – while I would enjoy this; our dogs, prior to recent “security upgrades” left some presents of their own for the neighbours…

We get moles and just scoop the hill up and scatter in the flower beds cats get hours of amusement at the hills springing up.

I however only mow the lawn when it’s looking a bit wild or to take a pic of a new bike for posting on here and generally couldn’t be arsed about the garden.

I’ve seen an online video (likely on here) of someone firing a compressed air cannon down mole holes to collapse the tunnels on the blighters heads. An option? 😉

I thought this was a euphemism!! Wrong type of moles wrong type of garden! 😯

Leave the poor buggers alone you’ve probably plonked a great big block on top of their house and keep mowing their roof Or move to the Isle of Man we don’t have them.

Having neat flat grass is apparently so important that we’d kill for it.

And then proudly take pictures of the slaughter to show to others.

Humans really are strange creatures sometimes. 😕

I’ve heard milk bottles sunk into the garden with tops off humm and this makes them mad! Otherwise traps or guns…

We’ve moles, but its only on the bottom lawn – so I’ve told the Gardener just to collect the top soil and we’ll have a new bed in one of the courtyards 😉
