I'm considering getting a Gore Phantom II jacket, but am a bit confused by the sizing. It says they're slim-fit, and they certainly look like it. I have quite a broad chest, and a little bit of a gut. So am I best to steer clear? Any alternatives for normal blokes who don't fit into the super-skinny category?

Obvious answer is to try one on. Failing that, I can say they are ideal for slim, tall people. I'm nearly 6 foot, 38/40 inch chest and 32 waist and a Gore medium size fits me very well.

Unless you go up a size or 2 I can imagine they will be too tight

Try them on. Fabric is nice and stretchy, so you should be able to get one to fit. They are slim but not tight fit.

The Gore size guide on Wiggle suggested I should go Large, so I did.
I reckon a Medium would have been a better fit, as the large is baggy in places.

As is always the case it pays to try them on!
