    From Guido:

Dealing rooms cheered as rumours swept around the Square Mile that Gordon was gone. Downing Street had to issue a denial that the Prime Mentalist had resigned. Soon Gordon, soon…

I wish he would just hurry up and do it…

Thing is, who wants the Conservatives back in ?

Vote Liberal Democrat…. it would make a change, even if they wouldn’t have a clue what to do with the country.

Why can’t we have Barrack Obama ?

There’s absolutely no chance of anyone other than Labour or Tory winning an election in this country
Unless the Lib Dems can manage to get themselves into the number 2 spot

I can’t remember when it was first mooted but the idea is that the Libs & one of the big 2 decide to sacrifice seats by not opposing the other in certain key constituencies

The fence sitters then finish up as the opposition & fight from there

    EDIT: This sort of thing

Sod party politics, they are quite similar anyway. If you don’t like your MP vote for change to a different one.

Screaming euphoria, unmanagable optimisium, unrealistic expectation… Think we had that in ’97, didn’t we?

Given the current levels of disillusionment it’s possible that so many fringe parties could end up winning seats at a general election that nobody gets an overall majority. In that situation a coalition government involving the Liberal Democrats could happen, so I reckon that just now they’ve got a better chance of getting a toe in government than they have for a long time.

If the election isn’t held until next year though then the fuss over expenses will probably ebb back a bit and a Tory landslide will become likely again as “kick Labour out” becomes the priority in voters rather than “stuff all politicians”.

But that doesn’t mean voting for someone else is a wasted vote. You might not want to vote Green, but this article by George Monbiot sums up why voting for someone who doesn’t stand a chance still sends a signal to whoever wins: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/georgemonbiot/2009/jun/03/george-monbiot-european-elections

Indeed, she was in the same year as me at school – same school too 🙂
