   Hi, I'm in the process of moving all my emails on line as I'm increasingly away from my desk while needing to access them however i'm hitting a bit of a problem.

   Currently I'm going through Outlook Express and my ISP mailbox.

   Despite going through the ISP mailbox all email details are
   me@domainname.co.uk

   when i change this to googlemail the details are listed as
   mailbox@isp.co.uk or me@googlemail.com

   is there any way to set googlemail up the same as OE so that i'm only giving my me@domainname.co.uk address out in case i happen to change ISP or email server again?

   does that even make any sense?

   Well you've got me confused

   1.Outlook Express is no longer supported, so that's got to go. Microsoft would like you to jump to 'Live Mail'.
   2. All your mail should be on you ISPs web based server.
   3. Easy to set up your NEW Gmail address to collect the mails from your ISP/Outlook Express.

   Well that's what I did when I left Mr Branson.

   yeah, i'm not good at explaining things.

   if i send an email from OE it comes from me@domainname.co.uk

   if i send an email from gmail it comes from me@gmail.com

   i want gmail to say it comes from me@domainname.co.uk so i only have 1 email address... is that better?

   set up google mail to receive your emails; you have to send from googlemail, but you have a dropdown option to show the from address as which ever you want.

   Thats how it works for me...

   thats one way of getting round it but its a pity you cant hide the gmail details, it would make it look a lot cleaner.

   You can set your gmail up to default from your me@domainname.co.uk address.

   It's in settings - accounts and import

   You can set up a free google apps account to handle the email for @domain name for you and then both pick up from a mail client or webmail. Is your isp handling your domain name for you or did you buy it somewhere else?

   The other method mentioned here will work but iirc the mail says something like xxx@gmail.com on behalf if xxx@domain name.com

   My domain is through 123-reg which is different to my ISP

   I'll have a look at that google apps

   you are correct in saying "on behalf of"
