Got an old mac 23″ hd display that I’d like to hook up to my new MBP and need a good cable supplier. Any recommendations?

I’d always go eBay for that sort of thing.

EBay or amazon. Just get a cheapy one. HDMI is a digital connection so not affected by the quality of the wire.

HDMI is a digital connection so not affected by the quality of the wire.

that is not quite correct – hdmi is a pretty tight specification and as such all cables that meet it are sufficient – but for other forms of digital cable then quality of constuction, shielding and plugs are important, for instance s/pdif cables.

Length can also be a factor, some of the hdmi cables on amazon are pretty long and longer than the specification allows for, so look on Amazon for the reviews to see if someone else mentions that it works fine with the kit you want to use it for.
