  • Good service from Pace, poor service from Madison, maybe…

I posted on here a few months back about some overly firm (too much high speed compression) DT Swiss XMM 140 forks which I had sent back to Madison. They said there was nothing wrong with them and returned them to me, so I sent them into Pace who said they could put lighter damping oil in which would reduce the compression damping.

Pace just called me to say they had found there was a problem. They had contacted DT Swiss and were told the bladder (its a closed damping system) was stretched too tight and might have too much oil in. This was either done in the factory originally or later by Madison.

Either way the good news (here’s the maybe bit) is that Pace are taking over warranty claims on DT Swiss shocks from Feb so they should be able to fix it within warranty and therefore free for me.

Still pretty narked with Madison but maybe that’s why DT Swiss are moving away from them.

I await all the horror stories on Pace customer service.
