I’ve done some searching but any suggestions for good mtb trails near nice beaches?

After booking a last minute holiday for the family. Would consider UK or Europe.

Depending on what you expect from the trails the Isle of Wight is very family friendly – beaches, country walks, bit of history, nice pubs.
Just check it’s not a festival or sportive week because most places are booked out.

Glad this started. We’re coming down to Cornwall on Friday from Ayrshire for a fortnight. Staying in St Austell. Any pointers appreciated. Sorry for the hijack…

Dumfries and Galloway. Lovely beaches, handy for the Stanes, various family friendly stuff for non beach time.

    Yeah, I’d chose Dorset…

However, I live in Sussex by the Sea, and plenty of riding here!

Like Mackem says Basque country would be good, Cantabria is another possibility. Loads of trails up there, head over to Wikiloc.com and see what you can find. Or pay Doug off this here forum to show you around.

    +1 for Doug.

Plenty of other interesting things for the missus to do, loads of beaches and open spaces for the kids to run around, plus the fact that Spain is super friendly towards kids and families. Not to mention the food, which is just amazing.

You will need a guide though, you will not find the trails without Doug, and the routes aren’t hidden away somewhere online where you can do a sneaky download for your GPS.

    POSTED 1 HOUR AGO # REPORT-POST

Italians are so mega friendly, and love kids – just about anywhere on the lake. North (Riva del Garda) and Torbole are good bets, plenty of signed routes, uplifts, gnarr, plus holiday stuff like a beach, swimming, sailing, pools, promenade, etc etc

fourthed – but I wouldn’t go in August

    Galicia would be my choice
For a home grown solution, I’d look at the Isle of Man

Go down to the sea and turn right/north.

Golspie- ride off the trails, 30 seconds roll to the beach. All you have to do is break the ice off the sea and you’re sorted

Just back from a family beach holiday in Mallorca – where I spent a few mornings riding some incredible trails on a hire bike in the most inappropriate gear! A little bit warm though…
