Try this.

Avg free does it for me + comodo firewall. Although comodo now do antivirus as well for free but never tried it.

Stuff I have used for last 2 or 3 years on our computers (windows based) – 3 laptops + 2 pc's with no problems + no cost.

Antivirus = Avast Home Edition

Firewall = Comodo Firewall

Anti Spyware = Windows Defender

Cleaning up + stuff = CCleaner

Just make sure they are allowed to auto update.
