As title, for general DIY use. This one doesn’t look too bad: http://www.screwfix.com/p/bosch-gsb18-2-li-plus-18v-1-5ah-li-ion-cordless-combi-drill/9647j 2 batteries & good reviews, anything else worth considering? Cheers

I just bought that very drill (edit: the Bosch one) on Saturday. Very impressed; all the functions I wanted, runs for ages on a single charge, easy to hold. Honestly don’t know why I didn’t replace my old mains powered keyed chuck drill yonks ago.

I presume they are all basically the same, but I’m happy with it.

I have the drill in the link
Very good bit of kit a mile away from the bnq Bosch drill it repkaced.

Much better than the mains powered drill I had as well……but not as good good the sds drill as you would expect.

The only limitation you’d hit with Bosch is the time it takes to recharge the batteries – 50 mins is pretty slow for a 1.5amp/hr battery (makita’s chargers will charge a 3amp/hr battery in 20 mins) . It would only be an issue if you were doing anything involving a lot of sustained effort where you’d empty the batteries a lot quicker than you can recharge them again – for DIY situations I’d doubt thats an issue though.

Don’t know if there’s more to it that I haven’t seen, but this would be better, no? 2 x 2ah batteries rather than 2 x 1.5ah.

I asked similar recently but haven’t made a purchase yet, just can’t decide on price v’s spec v’s how much use it’ll get (not that much).

Probably… but I bought mine after driving one screw in by hand, thinking “bugger this”, going to screwfix and was back home and screwing again (fnar…) in half an hour…
