Ok I swapped out my 685mm bars for some 711mm ones. Not a huge difference however I didn’t feel ‘right’. I thought it’d change and I’d see the benefits etc etc. Its been over 2months now and I’ve been thinking…

I read all the stuff – wider your shoulders, better it is etc.

    should I try 685mm’s again?

I was using 685 eastons – swapped out to760 nukeproofs that Id got cheap and found them too wide but ok. Until I went back to 685s which then felt stupid wee. I now use 685s on my Pitch and 711 on my Orange. To surmise – wide bars are ok but leave smaller ones feeling really small! From yer post it sounds like youd be happier with 685s and its your bike so if I was you Id stick with them. Mind theres different rise sizes as well. Again I like easton 685 hi rise bars. Ea50s are my fave.

ride what you feel comfortable with, not what is in fashion.
