Anyone know of a set of full-finger (obviously) mountain bike gloves that will work with an iPhone? I know of a few pairs of “fashion” gloves that allow you to use your phone during winter without having to faff taking your gloves off, but I can’t find any riding gloves.

Anyone have any experience? I know licking your fingers will work, but don’t particularly want to go down that route – 😆

There are a pair of archery gloves I saw in Canada – windstopper and removable fore finger thingy that would work I think

Can’t find anything online but I saw them only 2 weeks ago

Interestingly, I tried with a pair of Specialised Enduros and they worked okay – don’t know if its the leather on the fingers that does the job.

Failing that, apparently you can transform any pair of gloves by stitching some silver thread through the finger tips which will give the required effect.

North face do some that might suit, they look a bit like the sealskins windproof ones, they are specifically for using iphone etc. called the etip

Can you not live without your MEMEMEPhone while riding?

My phone lives in my bag/pocket when I ride, as I’d rather be riding than on the phone.

Using it as a bar mounted gps maybe?

i BELIEVE they work off heat.

    so something thin
or metal thread in the tips (to transfer heat)
or give your nuts a good scratch first?
    or use your nose.

They are resistive touch screens, not heat sensitive

Or are they capacitive, dont know, but either way not heat sensitive

buy some endura gloves and when the end of the fingers split after a couple of rides you’ll be able to use the touchscreen.

Can reccommend The North Face Etip gloves, but not for the bike, they work perfect with the iPhone, but they wore out very fast in the recent weather. They were great when i was just running (broken wrist) but once i got back on the bike i had no gloves due to ripping them in the crash so wore the eTip’s and the silver tip wore out very fast and it is now hit or miss whether they work, however they are not really designed for the bike, and i took my chances, lifetime guarentee though so ill try my luck with that.

I find my normal gloves work once I’ve got a sweat on. Otherwise, I’ve got quite good at using my nose too.

Yes, the iPhone is a capacitive touch screen. My Sombrio ones have little pads on the ends of the index and middle fingers that work, although after many washes they are not as good as they were.

i have a pair of sixsixone gloves that work absolutly fine on the iphone. on the basis that there seem to be a lot of options, my suggestion would be, take the phone to your lbs and try some

Fox don’t work, unless you press really hard, and even then only sometimes

Haha, I thought I’d be the only one to use my nose on my phone!! 😆

I only really use it to unlock my Desire though, I haven’t mastered a text message yet.
