My 661 Comp with some cheap silk liners from ebay sorted me for about 50% of my riding last winter. For the colder days I bought some Sealskinz windproof/waterpoof but I hated the padded palm and found them far too hot even in minus temperatures.

Can anyone recommend something that’s somewhere inbetween please?

I like them. They have a small amount of padding on the palm, much less than the Seal Skinz ones. Light-ish, fleece inside and not thick bulky things. Long cuff to keep the draft off your wrists.

These are good too- lighter than the Bontys but fleece inside and no padding at all.

I bought some colder weather gloves from Decathlon last year, after experiencing the same issues as you. They were excellent so I bought another pair. Good price too. 🙂

I use Endura Thermolite Roubaix Glove for most riding down to when it gets really cold, then the £4.99 Aldi gloves come out. Seems daft that the dearer gloves are not the ones I want when its really cold but I can not stand riding with hot sweaty hands

The £5 fleece gloves from Tesco work OK in most conditions. I only need anything warmer in well below 0c conditions.
