  • glove reinforcement patches?

Got some ace gloves last year, really really liked them but within a couple of months they had holes in both the thumbs.
Looking through my kit the other day and I’ve noticed all my gloves are showing heavy wear at the same spot, it seems my thumb knuckle (the joint just below thumbnail) rests against the hoods while I’m riding my CX. An area none of my current gloves have any of those patches they use on heavy wear spots, I don’t think I’ve seen this on others either. So looks like I need to reinforce my gloves.
Any ideas what material I can use?
    Glue on?
    Sew on?
    both?

    Advice appreciated…

I’ve mended splits/cuts with the iron-on patches. Works okay if the material is, well, the right kind of material. You could stick some patches on the rub points to avoid premature wear.

yeah did wonder about that, I’m just not sure iron on is going to cut it on material that’s got to flex so much. Also dunno how my gloves will react to ironing.
