Anyone been to the pie shop at Acharacle on Ardnamurchan? Not to sure if it was the overall pie quality, that the pies were fresh out of the oven or even that we were in the most beautiful of places but I ate two of the worlds most fantastic pies. Was towards the end of 6 days of hard rides so most food seemed ace.

Cream? Yes indeedy. The idea came from a pastie maker in Cornwall. She puts a dollop of clotted cream into the pasty mix before sealing the pastry and baking – yummy.

Ate a nice venison with carrot and potatoe pie t’other day
