I’m planning on taking my 11 year old daughter riding on Saturday and was thinking about taking her to Gisburn Forest and riding the blue route. She’s OK on a bike but not an experienced rider.

I was wondering whether anyone could advise whether the Gisburn blue route would likely be suitable for a young inexperienced rider and also whether anyone could tell me what the conditions are like at Gisburn at the moment?

I’m also considering hiring a 24″ kids bike from Cycle Adventure and wondered whether anyone had experiencing hiring from them?

    Much obliged…

If she’s fit then she’ll be fine. Just take it easy (ignore the speedy big riders). Trail features include a few small berms and some little bumpy bridges. We would definitely take our 8 year old nephew.

Not sure what the conditions will be like, but its an all weather trail.
