I’ve got a fairly new LCD HD ready telly and laptop (windows7), both have HDMI plugs, so to get the laptop screen displayed on the TV, do I just go out and buy a HDMI cable and plug it in, is it as simple as that?

There should be a key combination like “function” and F5 that you need to press to get it to switch outputs. Other than that, just plug in and away you go.

My HP laptop has an HDMI output, and will automatically switch to the TV output when I plug in the HDMI.

But in answer to your question, yes.

Thanks, mines an HP aswell, so possibly I won’t have to press buttons to switch screens. On the grounds of the other HDMI post, I just ordered the cheapest off ebay.

What others have said. With W7 it should ‘just work’. A cheap HDMI cable will suffice.

Windows key and P to switch screen configurations.
