Just a quick question for all you equilibrium owners…..

I’ve got a 2011/2012 model coming and have a brand new set of sks velo 42 urban mudguards in the shed and I’m hoping they will fit ??

The question is ….. Will they ???

Oh and post your equilibrium pics up Please.

I’m running sks bluemels 35s on mine but with the thicker stays from the chromoplastics. Pretty sure a set of 42s would need modifying to get them to fit.

Built mine up using the ltd edition 853 frame. Lovely to ride.

I’ve got the narrow PDW guards with 25mm tyres on mine. Wonderful mudguards, those Portland Design Works.

I had a cherry red Equilibrium. I think it was 2011 or 2012:

    I used SKS Chromoplastics.

What size of tyres are you guys running? I have 28’s on my Aether (nope, not considering dropping back down as the roads are crap) and finding guards that fitted was problematic. Have got some frankenguard using and old crud catcher, a decathlon clip-on and pannier but a proper solution would be nice if I could get one.

Christ I didn’t realise they were that expensive when new.

25c on mine, looks like 28c would work but would be a squeeze.

They were a bargain frame-only though. I think I paid £325 frame and fork back in the day!

Thanks Renton. As second bikes go she’s not bad. I’m really very fond of this bike and the way it rides. Once you’re up to speed she hustles along very nicely. She’s not especially responsive to big power inputs and you can feel some of the power being lost through flex but she’s not meant to be a race bike. I have a race bike for that! Durable, comfortable and very easy to love with is how I would describe it.

I’ve got mine to commute on but hopefully might start doing a few road miles to so in can lose a bit of weight.

    Well here she is …….

Needs a front mech and a bit if a settle but it’s in very good condition.
