Hi, any tips on tuning gears? They’ve never quite been right since I got the bike, and I keep losing the chain off the chain ring on descents. Also the rear derailleur is rubbing on the spokes when I’m on the largest sprocket but I’m fairly sure I know how to fix that.

I’m going to have one last go at tuning the gears on my MTB before I give in and take it to the LBC.

    EDIT – I’ve got a SRAM X9 2×10 groupset

I have the issues with my mine Sram 1×11 from time to time but my LBS is doing some maintenance courses so I’ve signed up for that, maybe yours does the same ? or just take it into them for now

With the rear mech the hanger may be bent as well, worth getting that checked before trying to reset it all.

when the chain is in the smallest cog and either of the front cogs does it sag on the top stretch?

If yes then it may be too long or it may need the B Screw cranking in a bit to put the chain under a bit more tension.

Obvs the hitting the spokes business is down to the limit screws.
