Flame rectification gone, most probably the electrode, lead. or ignition box.

Or you've slopped dinner all over the burner.

no aparent food on the burner, the gas come on/off fine, its just the clicking that doesnt stop.

the clicking works fine for the rings, so would that rule out the ignition box, whatever/whereever that is?

i assume the electrode is the bit that sparks? are they easy to replace? it works obviously but doesnt switch off? hmm

the ignition box still senses the flame back through the electrode though.

Apart from a clean up around the burner area, you need a gas man in.

after messing about with this thing all night i think i may have stumbled on something.

if i twiddle the knob LOTS and move it slowly and carefully it sometimes stops clicking. so surely this means a fault with the knob contacts..or whatevers under there, i have no idea how to get behind the knob panel!

    this sounds a little strange i know…
