What a tragic tragic loss and thoughts and sympathy goes to his family.

Jeez. This is indeed sad - as Baron says, always seemed to be one of the good guys. I hope his family are left to get on with this in peace. Terrible news.

That is awful to hear. 42 yo and always seemed the definition of the model pro. RIP Gary

Top bloke - didn't have the best tenure as manager at Sheffield Untited, but was a thouroughly decent chap and always humble. As a player he had an outstanding career and watching him run rings round young lads at 39 years old at Bramall Lane epitomised that. RIP Gary - a sad loss.

RIP Gary, I'm gutted and stunned by this. Thoughts with his parents, wife and kids.
What a sad situation where he felt this was his only solution.
Top bloke, great professional and a cracking header of the ball. Some great memories at St James'.

he was indeed fantastic in the air, without doubt the most able header of the ball i've ever seen.
