    Solo road ride today so thought I’d give the “race yourself function” a go. Picked a ride from mid August when I was fitter than now.

    Seems I’ve refound my competitiveness. Took two minutes out of myself on a tough climb and four minutes in the whole ride. Now have jelly legs and the need for a quiet lie down.

    Its great for training, although i have been known to cheat by touching the screen so i can zero the gap 😛

    The first time I used it I recorded a normal pootle up to the top of the local hill, about half an hour of upwards; then the day after I tried to beat it. I was utterly shattered but ahead by a whole 15 seconds. How does that work?!

    Found a website recently that allows you to pull all training data (inc heart rate, speed at point etc) from someone’s Strava ride, so you can pit yourself against them in real time:
