Got this Friday and still getting used to it. The Open Street map has shown me some trails I didn’t know existed, but think will be better with the option of OS Maps for Off Road.

Garmin want £199, there has to be a cheaper alternative ?

Also, anyone who has one of these, does it always send you off road when set to cycling ?

The avoid trail, avoid unpaved, if its Red does that mean its on or off ?

    Cheers

I do believe counterfeit versions are available to order on the internet for about £20. OS and Garmin have no one but themselves to blame.

You can download and install OS maps on Garmin devices using MOBAC.

    In my experience…

If set to road cycling it will still try to take you on well paved canal paths, cyclepaths etc

If set to touring it will take you on muddy canal towpaths and muddy paths

I wish there was a mode that just stuck to roads!

If you want a pirate copy of the maps, just download it on Bittorrent etc, then copy it onto a MicroSD card. No need to pay £20 for it.
