Im having an issue with my new Etrex – its supposed to take upto 500 waypoints, but doesnt seem to want to know anymore than 112. Even with only 1 route it keeps truncating the route to 112 waypints. Can anyone advise why this might be and how i get it back to its 500 waypoint capacity?

Do you have a track in the memory?

nope, track memory is 100% empty.

What model etrex is it? and what software are you plotting the route with?

In Memory Map under Gps – Gps setup there is an option for the number of way points per route. If this is set to a low figure it will truncate your route even if your garmin supports more.

if its the same as the edge 305 then deleting routes doesnt delete the waypoints. go to navigation>find>delete all

its alright gents, sorted it now – dunno how though but it is now taking full sets of waypoints.
