My 2 yr old Edge 500 has just recently started switching off for no apparent reason, even with 75% + battery life

Has anyone had this issue with theirs? What did Garmin say?

    Is it full?

Try connecting it to a PC via USB and clear out the activities folder.

Have you updated the firmware to the latest version?

    Software Version 3.3

It automatically updates as I use Garmin Express to upload.

Download the Garmin updater (separate from express) and refresh the firmware from there.

My old 205 used to do this over bumps.

    details can be found here

I spoke with Garmin and they offer a flat rate repair/replacement at about £65 IIRC but I never bothered and eventually replaced it with a 1000.

Numbnut – think you might have it there! It is worse when on the CX bike off road 🙁

    Will ring them this morning
