I can do the absolute basics with my Edge 200:
Record and upload to garmin connect, and view on google map or sat map.
Use some guesswork (off main trails) to highlight it on the O.S. map.
Save route/activity as course, send back to device, then follow trace.

    I’m afraid that’s it.

I was wondering – Is there a way can I see my route onscreen on a 25,000 O.S. map?
Does the ‘Return to Start’ feature work in any other way than following the exact same route in reverse? Can it return by quickest pointing directly at start location?
Are there any good instructions anywhere in creating a route from scratch on garmin connect?

You can view your GPS files you’ve created on something like bikehike.co.UK and similarly draw on bikehike to create a GPS track to follow. It will just be a squiggle on the screen though.

Thank you – I’ll check that out. Any more thoughts? 😀

I use RideWithGPS to create the routes then upload it to the Garmin. Seems to work ok. Not a bad unit but why they didn’t include a clock in the scrolling options when in use is beyond me.
