  • Garmin connect bother: any experts in?

So my club uses garmin connect to share the planned routes of every club ride. I don’t have a garmin device to download the route to and want to download the route as a file, potentially to upload to another brand of GPS that I’m thinking of getting.

The only problem is that I can’t find a way to export courses as a file through garmin connect. I can see the courses i receive in the ‘plan’ section on garmin connect but there’s no ‘export’ function for courses in the plan view.

    Can you help?

    No.

    Ok I’ll try.

I think you have to have an account to enable downloads and the owner needs to tick share, this of course could be me just thinking it’s that simple.
I say this as I have an account and similarly tried to download a course someone had done that looked really cool, but they didn’t want to share it so I ended up just copying it on a new course I created in connect.

    No help I know…

    Cheers,
I’ve just been told ‘not possible’ by the garmin helpline

Maybe ask around the club to see who has the route as an activity, then you could export it and create your route from that.
