I’m wondering if I can use my 12v charger from my Garmin car sat nav to charge my Garmin 800 bike gps.

    Charger model is: GTM 25

Anyone out there know about electronics?

Just get a USB plug and use the Garmin lead.
Though I have used a Tom Tom charger on my 800 when i forgot the lead.

Is it really 12V? If so then no, you need to drop it to 5V but the satnav charger likely already is 5V output. It’s usually stated somewhere or other on the device or in the manual. If you need something completely new then a cigarette lighter USB charger and suitable USB lead will run you about £2.50 on eBay.

Get a power bank thingy instead maybe?

Picked one up from Lidl for a tenner the other week and it’s great for charging stuff quickly while you’re away from home.

Looks like the output should be 5v 1amp. This is all last minute stuff, so no time to go shopping.
