Why are they different, have my garmin to auto pause when stopped but have 2 different readings?

One is for your entire ride *including stops* the other is just your moving time. So the first should be slower than the second.

I thought that too, but on garmin connect there is :-

    Time – 23.07
    Moving Time – 22.15
    Elapsed time – 25.07

Time is the moving time as calculated on your garmin device i.e. with the stops removed.

Elapsed time is the total time from when you press start to when you press stop.

Moving time is the moving time as calculated by Garmin connect.

The difference between Time and Moving time is simply the different algorithms used to decide when you are stopped on the device and on the web site. The former should be more accurate as the web site only has the samples in the stored file to work with, so has to do a bit of guessing.
