  • Garmin 800 – not loading OS maps

Yesterday my Garmin 800 stopped showing its OS 1:50k explorer maps.

They are legit offical maps loaded onto the mini SD card.

In the choose map screen the OS maps have disappeared as an option, but when you plug the garmin into the computer they are on the card. I played around for a bit and for 20 mins got the sd card to read, but on the choose map screen it said OS maps enabled then ‘none’ and did not show in the mapping screen. Now the OS map option has disappeared again.

Tried a different SD card in and the Opensource maps on that one works fine.

Any ideas – I presumd the SD card is fine as the computer can see it when the garmin unit is plugged in.

The one time this happened to me I just popped the card out then put it back in and all was fine. Have you tried putting the os card back in?

funnily enough mine did this on Sunday. Not found a solution yet but filed a garmin support question.

If it comes to it Garmin will reload your card for just under £30.

I Tabu k I’ve worked it out, I updated the firmware the other week to the lastest with ‘vibe’ compatibility and its stopped working since then.
