I tried my new 500 the other day, which I got in the Amazon PSA a while ago.

Nice kit and a step up from the 200 it replaced, but I found the autoscroll screens right annoying….I have set up 3 screens, to get as big text for my old eyes as possible 8) but I found I was distracted looking at it as it scrolled around.

Thinking having it fixed just on one, with speed etc might be ‘safer’ ??

Yes, I just have one screen for racing (ride time, heart rate, distance), one as the standard ride screen with speed, distance, ave speed, and one for the fun stuff (gradient, metres climbed, climbing speed, ave heart rate etc)

ah, thats better, first screen with speed, distance, av speed. Second one with elapsed time, temp, time. Third one with elevation, calories, max speed. And crucially, switched of the darned scrolling function, and useing the manual screen change button. Much less inclination to keep looking at it while it scrolls rather than looking at the road in front of me 🙂
