Anyone got a hammock in their garden? How tall do the posts need to be and how deep into the ground should I go…the hammock will be supporting 2 people from two upright posts concreted into the ground. Will a couple of bags of post mix be sufficient for each post?

    Cheers

Dunno, but I would have thought at least 2 ft down and at least 1 ft dia with that kind of strain depending on how deep and what sort of soil, subsoil you’ve got. Cheapest would be a bag of portland cement and bags of concreting gravel, 7:1 mix.

1/3 in is generally the rule for these sort of things.

Yup 1/3 as rough guess for posts saying 2′ down is no if the pole is 8′.
