Thinking of getting the garage alarmed. Would want something that makes a noise in the garage and would wake me up in the house (remote unit?).

    Any recommendations?

(Apparently it’s not possible to extend our house alarm to the garage).

I have used these a couple of times & work very well.Free SIM card.

Comes with sounder fit in small box out of the way needs mains to power the controller.
Remote arm/disarm.It has 4 Zones that you can wire into with a N/O contact going closed in alarm so handy for Switches on doors.Or N?O magnetic proximity switches.
upgrade power adaptor on the ones I bought as supplied poor output, for the money great little working units.
Batteries supplied with PIR and radio contact last about 12 months.
Told users to replace every year any way.

Bolt a Master Blaster Siren to any alarm and it will wake the dead.

So loud, you can’t stand being in the same room.

Get a house alarm system and put one of the sensors in the garage. That way you’ll definitely wake up. I have had two yale systems in both properties I’ve owned and they have been faultless. All wireless diy fit and easy to do.

Alot of house burglaries are when people are in. My house is alarmed at night.we can go downstairs, through Hall into kitchen without needing to unset. Have PIR’S in garage, shed, living room, back room and door sensors on both back doors and front door.

Make sure you lock the bikes to something secure then hopefully the alarm and the inability to just grab will prevent them

    He was asking for recommendations.
Master blaster is good but the sounder that comes is loud enough to waken people if put in the correct position.

could get this, plus a remote to enable / disable and the panel would act as a siren inside the garage.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

When we had the house alarm serviced the OH asked if it could be extended to the garage and apparently it can’t for some reason. We’re not going to install a new whole house alarm just to add extra coverage to the garage.

The main garage door is actually inaccessible anyway, it’s locked from both sides and has a heavy duty floor to ceiling bike rack attached to it. It won’t be moving very easily! That and I reverse the van right up to it. So we just need to secure the side door really. Think I might have a look at the eBay one. Hoping that as soon as the door garage door goes the sound would just make anyone scarper.

Some reasonably priced systems on this site

130db alarm and easy to install. Plus you can extra siren units, door and pir sensors.

I’ve got one of the yale ones on my garage. It cost me about £100 and has 2 pir sensors and 2 door switches. It took me a couple of hours to fit and works well.
