Just a word of warning, when SSD’s let go, they let go. No head’s up at all 🙁

Not even a linux machine can recognise the drive now. Out of the blue, computer says no. a 3yr old 32GB Integral SSD. Used to be my OS drive until I went up to a 80GB OCZ. I must remember to make a recovery disk/system restore! 😯

Fortunately it was just a local copy of my Google Drive, some other Data files Id just backed up and a few GBs of installation files that I can find again on the interweb if I need to.

Thank goodness for Google Drive. Now just to push all Mrs Stoner’s files up to her account too as I dont trust her to keep backups.

Not a great way to start the day.

Not strictly true, sometimes they go a bit flaky first, don’t always get recognised on boot etc. Not appreciably better/worse than HDDs IME – we’ve killed a few in robots at work. Don’t think they like sand and heat…
