Been hunting everywhere for these but can only find 12v ones. Am I going to have to replace the light fitting because of no lamps? did these vanish with the 240v globes?

You can just buy a cheap transformer, they’re only a few quid.

I’ve just been looking to replace the blown halogens in my cooker hood with LEDs. Looks like I will probably need a new transformer also. Cheap though.

I would have to rip up my loft insulation and boarding to add a transformer, which is no mean feat and has only just been put down. I don’t see how they can’t be available, the light unit uses 10x 20w G4 and was purchased only a couple of years ago, its frustrating!

Are you sure the unit dosent already have some kind of transformer built in? Just checked with a supplier i use and they only stock 12v G4’s

Andyl – not sure if they are 240v though? loads of 12v 20w ones about but it seems there’s no 240v ones.

I may have stumped the STW hive mind. Is this like a googlewhack?
