I'm driving an ex-NHS Ambulance to Mongolia in July and want to raise £5000 for Cancer Research. Trouble is I work away in Ireland and only get home for 2 weekends a month. I need to think of some good fun ways of raising money with my mates in the short periods of time that I'm back home.

So far I have arranged a weekend bike trip to Wales in March using the ambulance as transport, and a fancy dress pub crawl around Bristol but I need lots of other good ideas fast!

Have a look at our website http://www.themongolancecrew.com

yeah, I will get some sponsorship from folk at work but I work 7 days a week and hardly ever socialise here so I don't really know anyone

Curry evening – Got local curry house to do a set price meal + share of bar takings. We charge those coming slightly more and also had a raffle and passed round sponsorship.

Leg waxing – very funny for those watching / paying to rip hair out of legs. We were doing a bike ride though.

I raised over £500 just by running two 10 week lottery bonus ball sweep stakes (sell all 49 numbers for a pound each (so £10 per number), whoever has the bonus ball each week wins 20 quid, so 200 quid in prize money, 290 quid to the charity)

Easy, that's 10% there already, assuming you can find the people to flog the balls to, need 90 or so, some will do it twice.

Or do it 2 quid a number, and pay out 40 quid each week, same result in the bank for you.

    Ooh, that sounds easy!
    Will give that a try!
