One of my mates is on about getting a electric crank drive bike for off road. Any ideas and what are the best ones guys

i owned a Haibike rx fs for about 8 months.
fantastic bike, proper full sus design, capable of calderdale climbs and descents. managed a 300 mile offroad tour in the dales/north yorks moors last summer. it performed faultlessly……..until the las 100yds of offroad.
the frame snapped. after a long period of arbitration i got a full refund.
oh, and if you can, buy local.
