    Hi
Ive got a Vitus rapide 29″er at the moment and have done all sort of events on it from mtb marathon series to 24 hour events and trail centre races such as coed y brenin.
Im looking to buy a full suspension bike now to do the same type of events. Really like the Orange gyro/ segment but not sure if that will be to heavy etc compared to my current carbon hardtail.
Not sure if my budget will stretch thethe like’s of Scott range.
Any recommendations as ive never has a full suss andstruggling a bit on really technical rocky sections on the hardtail.
    Thanks

Giant Anthem is probably what you need to know.

Great prices, great ride and with a bit of pimping can be very light due to using the same (light) frame set throughout the price points. Ride as is for now then upgrade wheels and bits as wallet allows/things wear out.

I’ve never actually ridden one of these but these look like pretty unreasonable buys… They review well and seem pretty well suited to the job, bit more relaxed than an all out XC race fs. Wheels on the cheaper one are pretty weighty mind.

    Anthems are ace too.

Not personally but have a friend who rides one and he rates it highly. Good deal on this one from Orange if your after a medium –

The segment is a great bike (I had its predecessor, a Gyro) but it’s not a light bike so if your main priority is racing and 24 hr events then there are better alternatives out there – starting with the Anthem as mentioned above. I’d also take a look at the Specialized Epic, Camber or a Canyon Lux.
