Not necessary. Quite a lot of pedalling and fire roads involved.

Not necessary but I wore one and didn’t regret it. Bit of extra protection ain’t it. Up to you really!

Was 37 degrees in Chatel last year when we were doing it, wouldn’t want to wear one in that heat for more than a few minutes let alone a whole day.
Xc lid last year, enduro style lid this year for me.

full face would be overkill.

Defo overkill. Its more of a pootle than a full on blast. And it does get hot.
