Just find it hard to believe a story like this not making the papers
    Pretty scary to me !

    Fukushima’s radioactive ocean

Luckily, two ocean currents off the eastern coast of Japan — the Kuroshio Current and the Kuroshio Extension — has diluted the radioactive material so much that its concentration fell well below the World Health Organization’s safety levels

    Phew!

Considering the Pacific is still chock full of radiation left over from when we were all testing huge thermonuclear devices to ensure Mutual Assured Destruction, and no one seems particularly worried about that either………..

I love the ‘ice wall’ stuff.

I want them to start deploying Godzilla to sort things out though.

Supposedly leaked only 1/10 of the radiation that Chernobyl did.

I can’t find it now but there was an article debunking the computer generated image given there. The author, if I remember rightly admitted he’d made a mistake when he created it. (Or has been offered money/a bullet to shut up)

So, this ice wall won’t be ready for another two years, and meanwhile they are producing about 400 tons of contaminated water per day.

The recent leak was about a day’s worth of radioactive water.

I agree that Tepco aren’t making a good job of managing the damaged reactors, but the levels of radioactivity outside the immediate area represent a very low level of hazard, particularly compared to other hazards that don’t get a mention.

I wonder how much harm was done by all the chemical and biological contamination that was released as a result of the earthquake and tsunami that killed up to 20 000 people. Since it’s not as easy to monitor as radioactivity, or as easy to frighten people with, it doesn’t get much discussion.

I’m going to go with not very much at all, unless of course you have some specific details that I don’t know about.
