Possibly interested in the R540 pedals but Shimano website says they are SPD-SL i.e. road type cleats, can you please confirm one way or the other?

Hi Chunk R540 pedals are road/touring pedals that use mountain bike cleats SH51.So people into mountain bikes that buy a road bike dont need to buy new pedals or shoes.SLs are pure road pedals and cleats which are different.Cheers Ian.
