  • FSA MegaExo v Shimano HT11. Compatability and fitting tips please.

Have been looking at putting a new chainset on the gf’s bike to try and help lighten it for her and have got it down to the Deore HT11 or the FSA V-Drive MegaExo which is going cheap on the OnOne site.

I’m drawn to the FSA due to the good deal and think it also looks nicer but i only have experience of fitting the Shimano system. If i recall, Shimano, FSA and Raceface are all interchangeable and it’s Truvativ that are different but thought i should check first? It’s a replacement for the basic octalink crank and bb already on there which are pretty weighty.

So is the FSA system just the two cups that screw in with the spacers depending on BB shell width like Shimano or is it different? Or are there any other lighter options in the same price bracket (£50-£70).

    Thanks.
