I used to have some of those until not that long ago, and you are right - they are surprisingly OK

I got another pair with speed springs in and they are nice and the build quality is better than my marzocchi mx comps! The good thing is the steerer tube and stantions are replaceable

i had a pair with speed springs, swapped the steerer for a 1" so it would fit my 97 P7, surprising good fork
i expect you already know, but retrobike.co.uk might be the place to sell these?

Aye, they served me well for the ten years that I used them! The elastomers are fairly new, as I recall.
