Hi all,
I am selling my Tamron 10-24mm Canon fit to fund an Sigma 8mm fixed as I think it will be more what Im after.
Ive had the Tanmron for 5 months, and have enjoyed using it for landscapes, biking photos and a bit of band photography as well as other bits and pieces along the way.
Center definition is very good, but as with virtually all wide angles its soft at the edges. This is something that they all suffer from, and for the price I found this to be easily equivalable to a Sigma or Canon unit without the price tag. Its quick enough to focus, the action is smooth, it feels solid and performance has been good. Ive tryed a 12-24mm Sigma which was over double the price and I couldnt tell much difference in performance, even at 100%.
The lens is in great condition, always being stored in a dry bag and with a Hoya UV filter on it. There is no dust, scratches, marks, chips or damage whatsoever to the lens. I have all the bits it originally came with, and will supply it with a Lowepro LC1N carry bag and Hoya UV filter if I get the asking price. I would like £290 OVNO, and that includes insured postage too. They go for around £320 to £360 new on Ebay, but you're buying from Hongkong or China with a risk of import tax... I will however accept offers if you think I am too high, but please dont take the mickey! As I said, the lens is near perfect and hard to tell its been used.
