Up for grabs (still
) is a large Intense Socom frame, 2007 model I believe, in stealth anodized black. It does have a bit of a problem, this being a crack in the seat tube as follows (look away if you're faint of heart!):

The flaking of the paint is not from stress/flex etc, it's been cleared away to give a better view of the crack... I bought this off STW member Jemima, he managed to crack the frame by running too much seatpost extended. My intention was (and still is if I end up keeping it) to get the crack repaired and build a nice (and cheap!) DH ride.
I honestly believe this to be repairable (say by just welding the crack direct or putting a gusset/brace over it, plus plenty of other options), otherwise I wouldn't have bought it; it's probably even ridable as it is (with a looong seatpost fitted well into the downtube, ie not much showing above the clamp...
Please believe me that I'm not selling because I've now learned it's irreparable, I'm an honest chap and I would not try to pass on my mistake to someone else; I just haven't had time to look into it at all! I still genuinely think it's a viable option for a superb budget DH rig (a boutique frame for generic money), yes it's a risk, but I honestly don't think it's that much of one...
I've since sourced a few bits to suit for the build, these being:
Roco WC PUSH tuned (in the US) shock (from YETIboyJAY) - no spring
150mm Da Bomb 12mm bolt through rear wheel (from Petey_Pants)
Mount hardware for the Roco (from TF Tuned)
I'm still very tempted to hang on to this, but realistically I'm not going to ride it that much (if at all!) and it'll probably just sit in my 'shed' (well, my hallway) for ages, which is a shame, it'd be better off in the hands of someone who really wants it and will use it!
Apart from the crack, there's really nothing else wrong with the frame, a few scratchs and marks here and there, but no major dings etc... Plenty more pictures can be seen HERE (Flickr), courtesy of Jemima.
Just looking to recoup my outlay (hopefully), so £450 posted is the asking price (I'm not making a penny on this, I promise, I'm actually losing a little bit)... I could probably (OK, maybe) put this on the Evilbay and perhaps make a profit (you know how Ebay is, sometimes!) but I'd honestly prefer to just break even and sell to someone on STW
Would prefer to sell altogether, otherwise I'll most likely be left with things I don't need! You can always sell the parts you don't want or keep them as spares...
cheers
Psychle
