I've recently converted to discs on my CX bike so my previous solution is for sale. Perfect for anyone who can't convert to discs but likes their CX bike to stop
For anyone who doesn't know, travel agents allow you to use mtb v-brakes with road brake levers (different cable pull would mean they'd be too spongy otherwise) and also offer the major benefit of removing the need for the v-brake noodle which tends get very draggy once full of mud.
The XT v-brakes (M760 IIRC) themselves work brilliantly on a CX bike - lots of power and good feel so that you can actually ride technical stuff properly and they work consistently even in the wet.
The pads currently fitted are approx 50% worn. The additional pad/shoes included are approx 10% worn so you'll get plenty of life for your money too!
So, how much for CX brakes that work? £37.50 posted
