so my 6 yr old 105 10 speed 5600 mech on the cx bike broke today 🙁

I can get a new one on ebay , or for a few quid less from Wiggle a 5700 one. There seem to be some tales of different pull ratios though ? anyone know for sure if I can use the newer 5700 double mech with a 5600 double shifter ?

I was worried about this but the oth way round… I have new 5700 shifters now and 5600 mechs… Both work fine. I can’t see how the pull ratio could change in a derailleur ?. They’re pretty basic mechanical components really, I do believe the pull ratio for the brakes is different though which is why I can run vees now 🙂
I’ve got an alivio 4600 mech you can have for tenner btw that’s about 5 rides old…

Lfrider, thanks for info. Will pass on the alivio, cheers. Will order either 5600 or 5700 mech this evening

I thought it was only the brake pull ratios that changed with x600 and x700?
