OK just building a new bike fitted the front mech clicked it down to the small ring all the way on the shifters ran the cable through and now it wont go into the big ring. The shifter clicks into the middle then nothing will move. Any ideas?

can you pull the mech out far enough to get to third with the cable detached?
If yes then mech or cable at fault.

Disconnect the cable from the mech completely, and pull on it as you change gear to see whether the fault is in the shifter. You may find that you've put the cable in incorrectly and it's jamming, or maybe the shifter's broken just by co-incidence.
