Is the SLX M667 the mech of choice – I'm building a Cotic Soul with bits and pieces lying around in my garage, but am without a front mech. To make the most of a double and big tyres, are there any other options?

Won't any old mech do it?

The slx double is superb, as the cage is deeper, so the chain is less likely to come off.

Thanks all for the response. I know any old mech will do, but if I've got to splash some cash, I want to get the best for the job – SLX is designed for a double, but I haven't seen any others specifically designed for a double – the advantage I perceive being less overhang with a chunky rear tyre.
